How to Serve: Beef Mortadella

Mortadella (Turkish 'mortadela') is a silky, mildly spiced cold cut. The plain, olive, pistachio and peppercorn versions all shine on a breakfast table or in a sandwich.

Serving Ideas

  • Breakfast & meze plate: Roll or fold thin slices next to cheese, olives, tomatoes and cucumbers.
  • Mortadella tost: Toast with kaşar cheese in a sandwich press for a crisp, melty sandwich.
  • Simit sandwich: Split a simit and fill with mortadella, white cheese, tomato and cucumber.
  • Party platter: Cut into cubes with cheese and olives on toothpicks.

Tips

  • Slice as thin as possible; it tastes richer that way.
  • The pistachio version pairs especially well with kaşar cheese and fresh bread.
